Abstract
The study was conducted in 13 rubber holdings that used both RRIMFLOW RF and ethephon methods of stimulation. The RF area had 44 more yield than the ethephon areas. In spite of the higher yields the leaf nutrient status of N P K Ca Mg and Mn were not statistically significant from the areas that use ethephon. Similarly the nutrient contents of the bark and latex were not were not statistically significant between the 2 areas. The exceptions were seen when RF trees had significantly higher K contents than those of trees that used ethephon. The RF latex also had a higher Total Solids COntent TSC while the bark had lower moisture content. The extra fertilizer needed by the larger latex drainage in RF areas is 25kg SA 19 kg CIRP 13 kg MOP and 4 kg Kieserite for every additional 1000 kg increase in yield. The relationship between nutrient content and soil nutrient contents in the topsoil and subsoil was also studied. Again no definite trends were seen except in two instances where leaf P was related to soil P and leaf Ca with soil Ca level.
