Abstract

A 250-meter grid digital elevation data exist covering the entire Japanese country. Plans to shrink this grid interval have advanced and some 50-meter grid elevation data can already be found. The remote sensing image data spatial resolution has been improved to 10-80 meters. Therefore it is necesarry to develop surface models to make compatible with these large variety of data. A surface model is here developed using these digital elevation data transforming macro-grid to micro-grid intervals applying B-spline interpolation techniques solving the hidden line problems and displaying on perspective projection combining with Landsat TM satellite data.
