Abstract

Experiments were conducted to extend the vase life of cut Chrysanthemum with pulsing treatment of different concentration chitosan 0 200 300 and 400 mgL-1 were incorporated into vase solution citric acid CaNO32 sucrose. The pulse treatment of each solution was kept for 24 hours then transferred to distilled water. Distilled water Chrysal and 8-HQC used as controls. The flowers were stand at 25-3C with the relative humidity 70-5 and 10mol m-2s-1 cool-white fluorescent light for 12 hours. Results indicated that the pulse treatment with 300 mgL-1 chitosan was increased longevity of vase life up to 14 days bud opening fresh weight and total of water uptake of cut flowers.
