Abstract

A study was conducted to evaluated the potential fertilizer redistribution through drip fertigation for flue-cured tobacco on bris soil. Correct amount and proportion of fertilizer/nutrients applied through efficient fertilizer redistribution for the whole crop growth period are necessary for strong and healthy growth. The study showed higher values for fertilizer redistributed plots in all growth parameters measured which include plant height number of leaf per plant leaf length and width leaf weight and stem diameter compared to manually fertilized plots. This has contributed significantly towards higher cured tobacco yield for the fertilizer-redistributed plots. The fertilizer redistribution technique should be explored in details including crop physiological responses not only for flue-cured tobacco grown on bris soil but for other short term and annual crops as well.
