Abstract

Physiology parameters such as heart rate energy expenditure perceived exertion etc. were assessed for ergonomic evaluation of selected agricultural implements. The sample comprised of 30 farm women selected by purposive random sampling method from selected six villages of Parbhani district. Heart rate of farm women was measured with the help of polar heart rate monitor. Perceived exertion was assessed by using five point scale developed by Varghese et. al. 1994. The findings showed that the average working heart rate and energy expenditure were found to be decreased while performing the activities with the selected improved technologies except shovel. The percentage output was found to be increased with use of all the improved implements. The exertion perceived by farm women while performing the farm activities with all the improved implements was light as compared with the use of traditional tools.
