Abstract

Accelerated soil erosion and related mass movement processes in the Klang River Basin have increased tremendously - a direct result when the land surface is exposed by land development projects in the Klang River Basin. These are manifested themselves through various micro-erosional features rills and gully systems and assosiated mass movements. These features though ephemeral and short lived in nature had contributed significantly to the overall sediment budget of the Sungai Klang and its tributaries culminating with severe environmental impacts along its reaches. The present study describes these responses as various forms of landform sensitivities adjusting to new inputs of energy and matter that are typical of disturbed natural systems.
