Under this special project implemented by FRIM our main objective is to establish a centralized database on TK of medicinal and aromatic plants used by Orang asli or indigenous people in Peninsular Malaysia. As a component of this project a household survey was conducted in 2008 in RPS Iskandar Bera Pahang to understand the use of medicinal and aromatic plants of a Semelai community Based on our survey we found 233 medicinal plants species and 42 aromatic plants species by their local name that are still used by the Orang asli Semelai at RPS Iskandar to treat various illnesses and diseases.
