Abstract

The effect of six different growing media forest soil cocopeat empty fruit bunch EFB 3:2:1 soil 50 cocopeat and 50 POME 50 EFB and 50 POME on the growth of Kacip Fatimah Labisia pumila var Lanceolata was studied for 16 months in a greenhouse at MARDI Serdang Selangor. Periodic analysis over 16 months growth period showed cocopeat provides the most optimal growth conditions as shown by leaf with highest leaf area leaf drymass stem drymass and total drymass than other treatments. The finding indicates cocopeat can be a potential growing media for production of Kacip Fatimah.
