Abstract

A total of 172 plant life samples comprising 29 species from 22 families were collected from Tasik Chini Pahang and surrounding areas for ex-situ conservation. Types of aquatic flora collected can be subdivided into categories according to the ecological niches they occupied including submerged free-floating attached with floating leaves and emergent species. Detail notes including species date locality collector habitat description growth habit and other ecological information were recorded. All life specimens were transplanted to the Kepong Botanical Garden Forest Research Institute Malaysia FRIM. The plants were cultivated in their natural habitats. Herbarium specimens of selected species were deposited at the FRIM Herbarium KEP as permanent voucher records.
