Abstract

Mangrove forest ecosystem continues to be under critical conditions due to widespread damage that reaches an area of 530 ha/year. The research aims to analyze the sustainability of mangrove forest ecosystem especially at Pamurbaya Surabaya east coast. The method used in documentation was by collecting the data from the results of research studies as well as from other secondary sources. The data analysis was done by descriptive analysis technique. Sustainability of mangrove ecosystem covers in terms of environmental aspects The Mangrove ecosystem reduces waves of 0.7340 and a change of wave energy E19635.26 Joule 10 minimize erosion or coastal erosions nutrient turnover in the mangrove ecosystem suppressing the rate of seawater intrusion into the land and habitat for many species of flora and fauna. Sustainability of mangrove forest ecosystem involves social aspects malaria control conservation education wildlife and bio-pharmaceutical research; and sustainability of mangrove forests ecosystem in terms of economic aspects includes economic valuation the mangrove forest ecosystem in Indramayu for building materials firewood fisheries wildlife and pond around Rp. 880.883.129.000 -7 mangrove charcoal tannin palm leaves astringent skin wounds drugs diabetes drugs. In realizing the sustainability of mangrove forest ecosystems an integrated cooperation between governments universities private public and professional is crucial.
