Abstract
Land development for tree crop cultivation has been taking place in the country. Both the private sector as well as the Government have been involved in this development. As competitiveness to increase the profitability of tree crop cultivation grew the need to consider farm and water management practices also grew accordingly. This paper outlines the development that has taken place in drainage areas in the country the constraints that have been encountered and puts forward some suggestions to formulate better drainage management plans for the future development.
