Abstract
The adoption of Environmental Impact Assessment EIA in developing countries in general is attributable to the absence of any environmental protection considerations in various law and the policies of lending aid requirement some form of environmental assessment. In order for EIA to be able to make development projects more environmentally acceptable than under the previous planning arrangements the information and recommendations supplied in the EIA need to be translated into action.
