Abstract
Golf is one of the fastest growing sports in the Asean region. We see a proliferation of golf courses to meet the current popularity of golf. The hallmark of a golf course are seen in the quality of turfgrass and the minimum disruption to play due to rainy weather. Good and efficient drainage both surface and subsurface are required to achieve excellence in golf course performance. This paper deals with current trends in the provision of drainage for golf courses including soil modification with illustrations from Glenmarie Golf Country Club and Kajang Hill Golf Club.
