Abstract

This paper is to present a general overview on the Agricultural Drainage Schemes in the State of Sarawak and the focus is on generally how the design and construction of these schemes are being carried out in response to the local conditions and requirements. Particular reference is made to the design of schemes in acid sulphate soil and construction problems of tidal control gates. It is hoped that through this presentation and the discussion later some enlighten ideas in these topics would sprout out to enhance the quality of our future design and construction on Agriculture Drainage Schemes.
