Abstract

Every year huge amount of solid waste in generated in this country. Many developing countries such as Malaysia are facing serious problem in the disposal of their waste. One of the best possible approaches to manage the solid waste is to find the best selection and application of suitable techniques technologies and management problem that based on integrated solid waste management. This paper presents one of the application techniques using AHP to develop a model based on expert opinion for selection of appropriate waste treatment technology. Majlis Perbandaran Kajang is used as a case study to demonstrate the application of AHP in this area. The finding of this study revealed that the combined recycling and incineration technology is the best option for solid waste treatment technology to be implemented with in Majlis Perbandaran Kajang MPKJ. It is expected that the findings will be used as reference and practitioner for managing the municipal solid waste by Majlis Perbandaran Kajang MPKJ.
