Abstract

Skin whitening lotion was successfully prepared by incorporating commercial whitening active material and enriched with Gold Tri.E Tocotrienols. The product was confirmed for its stability particle size liquid crystalline structure and efficacy testing. It was stable upon three months storage at 45C. The mean droplet size at D 3 2 is 10 m. The pattern of particle size distribution was monomodal in which the tendency for particle size droplet to agglomerate upon ageing is reducing. With a right ratio of sucrose based emulsifiers a delivery system known as lamella liquid crystal was formed. Long term moisturizing test has shown a significant increase in skin hydration between 15-21 after 6 weeks of product application. Efficacy testing on 20 subjects confirmed that the product has whitening effect in 4 weeks.
