Abstract

Through a lot of research and development conducted on palm-based polyols in recent years today MPOB has successfully developed several series of palm-based polyols with improved physical properties and stability property by employing new process parameters. Those polyols are POP Pioneer POP Primer and POP Premier which are classified according to the raw materials used. The properties of each palm-based polyols obtained were different in term of its hydroxyl value viscosity and iodine value. The hydroxyl value for POP Pioneer is in the range of 111 mg KOH/g to 128 mg KOH/g 118 mg KOH/g to 130 mg KOH/g for POP Primer and 60 mg KOH/g to 84 mg KOH/g for POP premier. Other parameters such as viscosity iodine value and acid value were also determined.
