Abstract

The commercial application of OPEFB particleboard in the furniture manufacturing sector remains unexplored as awareness of the products was still at its infancy. A preliminary study was undertaken among 25 furniture manufacturers in the country to evaluate their perception and acceptance of OPEFB particleboard as a furniture raw material. The results of the study revealed that OPEFB particleboard cannot compete in the commodity market against the more established wood-based panels but is better suited for niche markets.
