Abstract

Macrobrachium rosenbergii is an important species of Macrobrachium which was introduced to China from South-east Asia thirty years ago. Since then it has been successfully cultured with established methods at nursery and grow out phases. There are over 50 published documents on the studies of Macrobrachium rosenbergii in various provinces in China that include hatchery production diseases mass production genetics feeds and others. However there are some problems facing the farming of the species thus greater efforts are taken to improve the farming techniques in order to sustain the farming industry of the species in China.
