Abstract

In line with the growing importance ofassisted pollination AP. in ensuring high and consistent yield three new AP. techniques namely the spray droplet and the touch techniques were developed for papaya soursop and durian respectively. The unique and similar feature in all these techniques is the use of an aqueous mediwn to hold nourish and deliver the pollens onto the stigmatic surface. The spray technique involves the use of an atomizer to disperse the pollen while through the droplet technique droplets ofmedia and pollen are trickled onto the stigmatic surface. In the touch technique AP. is carried out by submerging the tips ofthe stigma in the pollen aid media. All three techniques were found to be more efficient and practical compared to the commonly used brush technique.
