Abstract
This paper reports the results of a growth study in two silage crops to investigate levels of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins PCDDs polychlorinated dibenzofurans PCDFs and coplanar polychlorinated biphenyls PCBs which are dioxin-like substances. The result show no relationship between plant dioxin levels and dioxin levels in the soil; instead plant levels depended strongly on dioxin levels in the atmosphere. In addition no dioxin accumulation occurred in forage at either site.
