Abstract

The present project is to model the substrate enzyme reaction using Matlab software. The Michaelis-Menten equation was used to model the reaction. The model is able to predict the changes in the concentration of substrate with time to determine the rate of reaction and also able to find out the perfect time when the reaction is at its standard quasi-steady state. In the present work the basics of enzyme kinetics were analyzed. Some of the parameters needed for the model were mathematically derived. The model is able to predict the changes in enzyme concentration substrate concentration product concentration with respect to time.
