Abstract

Theadsorption mechanism of aprimarychain alkylamineonto silicate minerals is a fundamental aspect to be noted for selective flotation of feldspar. The adsorption experiment of tallow 1 3 -propylene diamine HCL collector on microcline and quartz minerals was carried-out through Hallimond tube flotation zeta potential measurement contact angle determination and Fourier Transform Infrared FTIR analysis. This study has been done on feldspar at 89 purity and 100 quartz purity from pegmatite deposit from Bukit Mor Quarry Muar Johor. The collector peiformance on microcline sep aration from natural feldspar material was evaluated using Hallimond tube flotation. It was found that about 83 of microcline could be recovered.
