Abstract
Hardware and software developments in recent years have provided opportunities for improving information transfer training and decision support in crop protection. This paper indicates some of the progress that has been achieved in the Asia-Pacific region by describing three software products that have been produced or are in the process of being produced. The first product is LucID Professional-a system that enables taxonomic and diagnostic key developers to build fully interactive multi-media keys without requiring programming skills. The other two products consist of a series of modules including tutorial packages LucID keys quizzes and video to provide training and decision support to domestic quarantine officers in China and to those involved in Rice IPM respectively.
