Wood B. J., . (1999) Cases illustrating the need for continuing RD in IPM in oil palms. [Proceedings Paper]
Abstract
Some aspects of plantation agricultural practice may seem optimised within well defined parameters. However the technological capability and the socio-economic context changes and specific problems may arise. Four IPM-related case histories in oil palms of Oryctes and Ganoderma in relation to replanting pollination and rat control illustrate that continuing research is needed. Emphasis is on looking at field evidence where coordinated RD seems likely to give economic benefit in relation to particular circumstances and targets.
