Abstract

Data collected in young Hoop Pine plantations in Queensland are presented. Mortality during year one is mainly associated with heat girdling or scarab larval damage with minor losses associated and with Rosellinia Root Rot and Poria Root Disease. Poria Root Disease becomes more common in plantations of 2 years and above on young trees adjacent to stumps infected by Junghuhnia vincta. Brown Root Rot is occasional in age class 3 at Amamoor in contrast to it;s more frequent occurrence in young first two rotation crops.
