Various insect pests and fungi associated with rattans and rattan products were listed. Among the more important insect pests and fungi were the longhorn beetle larvae Cerambycidae Colletotrichum gloeosporoides Fusarium spp. and Rhizoctonia solani that affect growing rattans. Other insect pests and fungi that were associated with rattan products include the powder post beetles Bostrychidae Heterobostrychus aequalis Dinoderus minutus and minthea sp. and sapstaining fungi Bostryodiplodia theobromae moulds Penicillium spp. Trichoderma sp. Fusarium spp. and Aspergillus sp.
