Abstract

In Thailand Malaysia the Philippines and Taiwan programmes of sprays of ;Amistar;· active ingredient; azoxystrobin gave excellent anthracnose Colletotrichum gloeosporioides control throughout the growing season and reduced post-harvest incidence of mango scab Elsinoe mangiferae latent infection of anthracnose and stem-end rot Diplodia natalensis. Levels of control were always comparable to or better than the best commercial standards. In Thailand a programme of ;Amistar; sprays provided very good protection against grape anthracnose c. gloeosporioides. Despite high disease pressure no infected bunches were observed in plots where ;Amistar; was applied at 125 mg ai/l or above. In Taiwan ;Amistar; gave good protection against wax apple anthracnose c. gloeosporioides and reduced post harvest disease.
