Abstract
The guava wilt disease is a severe malady of the Beaumont cultivar of guava in Malaysia with 500-1000 trees being killed per month once when the disease has set in. Attempts to isolate describe identify and verify pathogenicity of the disease showed the pathogen to be comparable to Penicillium vermoesenii Biorge. This is a first record in Malaysia.
