Abstract

The effect of adding palm-based oleochemicals to the performance of glyphosate was evaluated in the glasshouse. The mixture of glyphosate and oleochemicals were sprayed to selected weeds and spray deposition chlorophyll content of the weed and effectiveness of glyphosate were determined. The methyl ester S1 gave similar spray deposition when compared with the standard Pulse on Cyperus rotundus. Adding palm oil S1 S2 and Pulse to Roundup showed significantly reduction of the chlorophyll content of C. rotundus compared to Roundup alone at 3 days after treatment. Methyl oleote showed significantly higher spray deposition compared with S1 on Paspalum conjugatum and Diodia ocimifolia. However no significant difference was observed on mortality of the weeds in all mixtures compared with Roundup alone.
