Plants are crucial for the sustainability of human being providing food nutrient fiber and energy as well as maintaining the qualities of environment and ecosystem. Genome sequences will tremendously accelerate scientific research on plants increase our knowledge on the evolutionary continuum of plant genes facilitate their applications and manipulations lead to huge impacts on sustainable development of human society and on green and bio-based economy.
