Abstract
Two isolates of zucchini yellow mosaic potyvirus were isolated in Malaysia. The host range test indicated slight difference in the reaction of the two isolates on watermelon and melon. One of the isolate can be transmitted by aphid Myzus persicae and Aphis gossypii but not the other. Comparison of the coat protein nucleotides and deduced amino acids sequences of the two isolates indicated a difference of two amino acids in the 9; and 32nd position from N terminal of the coat protein.
