Abstract

The field efficacy of the insecticide imidacloprid Confidor 200SC against the leafhopper Empoasca fabae was studied on eggplant and okra. Two sprays given at 7 and 12 days interval on eggplant and okra respectively indicated that imidacloprid at 187.5 ml/ha was the most effective followed by imidacloprid at 125 ml/ha and mercaptodimethur at 780 g/ha. In the treatments where insecticides were sprayed showed that the populations of leafhopper fall abruptly one day after the application of the insecticides.
