Abstract

An investigation of the biology of virgin and mated female of wild Trichogrammatoidea bactrae fumata fed with 10 honey solution was carried out in the laboratory. To standardize the quality of the parasitoids the parasitoids which emerged singly from cocoa pod borer eggs were used and explored onto the rice moth eggs Corcyra cephalonica. The average daily parasitism rate production of progeny and longevity of a virgin female was 9.3 3.9 33.8 2.0 and 10.3 0.9 days. As for mated female it was 12.9 2.3 49.2 10.8 and 11.2 1.2 days respectively. The parasitoid was found to be arrhenotokus.
