Abstract

Plant PR10 is one of the pathogenesis related proteins induced upon exposure to different stress conditions including fungal injection. PR10 proteins have been implicated in fungal disease resistance in some species; however its transcriptional regulation is not well understood. In the present work we cloned a PR10 gene from oil palm Elaies guineensis. and monitored the quantitative changes in its transcript levels as a result of fungal infection during two months of the infection caused by the fungus Ganoderma boninense. Data base from four monocots identified plant sequence for this gene is used to design degenerates primers to identified the existence of the gen in the oil palm tree then the result fragment shows similarity with the sequence in other monocots Real-Time PCR used to study the expression of PR10 gene after infection. PPR10 shows the decrease of expression level in oil palm after infection.
