Cecilia M. F., . and Jhonathan E. E., . (2008) The effects of different NPK fertilizations levels on some physiological aspects of chaya Cnidosculus aconitifolius; Euphorbiaceae. [Proceedings Paper]
Abstract
The fast growing shrub called Chaya Cnidosculus aconitifolius ssp. aconitifolius Breckon belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family. In the study presented here five different levels of NPK were applied to three Chaya cultivars Chayamansa Estrella and Picuda. The NPK levels were 0 1 5 10 and 20 mM. Photosynthetic and transpiration rates as well as stomatal resistance and plant height were measured in weekly intervals. Total dry weight final leaf area and root dry weight were measured at the end of the experiment. The photosynthetic rate was different between cultivars but not different between NPK treatments. There was an effect of cultivar and the interaction between cultivar and NPK treatments in transpiration rate. The cultivars Chayamansa and Picuda were significantly higher under the control and 1 mM of NPK. All the other cultivars and NPK treatments were significantly lower There was asignificant effect of cultivar and an interaction between cultivars and NPK treatments in the stomatal conductance. Stomatal conductance of the Chayamansa and Picuda cultivars under control 0mM NPK were significantly higher than the other cultivars and NPK treatments. Plant height was affected only by the NPK treatments with no effects of the cultivars.
