Abstract

This study was based on macrofungi collected from May to October 2011. Field and laboratory observation revealed 82 taxa of macrofungi belonging to 28 families and 51 genera. Seventy-eight of these taxa belonged to the phylum Basidiomycota and the rest were Ascomycota. The highest number of taxa found was from the family Polyporaceae. This was due to the ecological condition of sampling sites and the life strategy of these taxa. The macrofungi found in UPMKB were highly diverse and continuous study should be carried out over a longer period in order to uncover the actual diversity of the macrofungi.
