Abstract

Molecular PCR-DNA method was been used as a practical screening procedure for detection and identification of Ganoderma in oil palm. Six primers that have been reported to detect the presence of Ganoderma were PER44-123LRI PER44-135LR21 GanlGan2 ITS1ITS4 ITS3GanET and PER44-126LR7. Out of six only two pairs of primers PER44-123LRI and PER44-135LR21 were successfully in detecting only pathogenic Ganoderma concurrently can be used to distinguish the pathogenic and non-pathogenic Ganoderma.
