Abstract

Pulsed field gel electrophoresis technique is currently the most versatile and popular technique for molecular subtyping of foodborne bacterial pathogens. We evaluated an in-house PFGE method to the one-day protocol from the Centre for Disease Control Atlanta USA for genotyping Salmonella spp. A database of more than 100 pulsotypes was established. The utility of this database is being evaluated.
