Abstract

The use of insect pathogens was an important component in pest management programmes. This was because they were easily handled specific to the target pests and safe to non-target organisms. The granulosis virus was obtained from Taiwan for limited testing against P. xylostella. The preparation and standardization of the virus symptoms in infected larvae incubation period and effect on the larval and pupal mortality of 1st to 4th of its application for P. xylostella control such as ability to reduce damage effect on other pests of cruciferous crops persistence on the crop plants and effect on the parasite Apanteles plutella were reported in this paper.
