Abstract
The effectiveness of rock phosphate RP and Triple Super Phosphate was analysed. Ammonium acetate lactate AAL was used to assess the P availability in the soil. Most of the fertilizer P applied 70 could not be extracted by AAL in less than 8 months after P application. Less P was extracted from TSP compared to RP. Dry matter yield and P uptake of Setaria was highest with TSP treatments with the first 4 harvests but on subsequent harvests the influence of RP was higher. 10 kg of P uptake/ha at the plant P concentration of 0.2 would be sufficient to produce high dry matter yield of Setaria. Setaria took up 60 and 100 kg/ha harvest of nitrogen and potassium respectively
