Abstract

The use of polyethyleneimine PEI - alginate for the immobilization of amyloglucosidase AMG and Streptomyces albus containing glucose isomerase GI was studied. Initial studies on seperately immobilized AMG and GI showed that on immobilisation the capacity for saccharification and isomerisation respectively were slightly decreased. When the separately immobilised enzyme and cells were mixed the rate of fructose production from starch hydrolysate was not affected about 20. When the enzyme and cells were coimmobilised onto the PEI-alginate gel the rate of fructose formation was slightly improved
