Abstract
This paper discusses the economic problems likely to be encountered in establishing plantations in Sabah and presents an analysis of the components of growing costs together with a brief discussion of the harvesting and marketing problems. The methods used in the establishment of the most economical rotation and calculations of profitability have been illustrated with particular reference to site quality class II Albizia falcataria in Sabah softwoods plantations
