Abstract
This paper presents an overview of the ASEAN Food Technology Research and Development FTRD projects involving Malaysia. It traces the initial formation reviews the rationale behind the regional collaboration and discusses the objectives of the projects. The mechanism of project implementation and the major accomplishments are also discussed. Since its inception ASEAN has been involved in various projects under different committees. The aim of this presentation is to keep the food scientists and technologists informed of the progress of the FTRD projects and the advantage of regional cooperation.
