Abstract

The prospects and problems associated with fruit cultivation were reviewed. Seasonal fruit production unreliable fruit quality lack of knowledge on postharvest handling and the long unproductive period were some of the problems highlighted. In the light of the expected increase in fruit demand for local consumption and export several strategies and remedial measures were suggested
