Abstract
Seventeen vertebrate and invertebrate pests infesting black pepper Piper nigrum L. in Sarawak are described with respect to their economic importance damages and control. The five major pests causing serious economic losses are root-knot nematodes Meloidogyne incognita M. javanica and M. arenaria pepper weevil Lophobaris piperis and L. serratipes green pepper bug Dasynus piperis tingid bug Diconocoris hewetti and birds Aplonis panayensis strigatus Pycnonotus goiavier and P. zeylanicus.
