Ong K.S., . (1985) Aquaculture - prospects and problems in Malaysia. [Proceedings Paper]
Abstract
Aquaculture from which only about 11 of Malaysia's total fish production was obtained was considered to have considerable scope for expansion. There were extensive potentially suitable areas in both coastal and inland regions. Also there was a variety of culturable species several of which were of high commercial value. Technology already exists for the commercial culture including the breeding and fry production of several of the priority species for aquaculture in Malaysia. Recent advances in aquaculture had greatly helped to overcome the remaining major problems in aquaculture faced by Malaysia and many countries in the world
