Abstract

This paper assesses and compares the facilities and usage of three upland recreation areas namely Gunung Jerai Bukit Larut and Gunung Ledang Peninsular Malaysia. The data were obtained during visits to the areas. These areas differed in terms of accessibility the available facilities and management. Gunung Jerai was the most accessible and Gunung Ledang the least accessible. Gunung Jerai and Bukit Larut were more developed and had better facilities. It is recommended that visitation and development of the areas be controlled to conserve the beautiful environment available in these areas.
