Eslava F.M. Jr., . (1987) Towards quantifying soil conservation measures employed in upland farms. [Proceedings Paper]
Abstract
One of the most important problems in soil conservation measures is to quantify or place a measurable value that is involved in implementing a soil conservation program. The paper explains one possible approach to overcome this problem. This approach involves actually measuring the area that is occupied by constructing soil conservation structures in relation to the total area of the farm land. The value obtained is called a soil conservation measure index and two formulae to arrive at this index are given in the paper. The research applications of the index are also presented.
