Abstract
Forest road the lifeline of forest activities is also a major source of environmental problems. The major impact is on soil and water. A field study carried out in two locations in Peninsular Malaysia indicated that these problems can be largely attributed to poor planning construction and maintenance practice. Therefore improvement of these practices should reduce a large proportion of these environmental impacts of forest roads.
